Can Playaway units be cleaned/sterilized?: Playaway units can be wiped down with any disinfecting agent in the same way you would clean a television remote at a patient’s bedside. In addition, we have packaging available that allows Playaway units to remain sealed in protective cases while being used. Vinyl lanyards with breakaway clasps can be included with each Playaway upon request.
What types of earbud/earphone options or accessories are available?: Each Playaway comes packaged with a set of earbuds. We also offer additional earbuds and earbud covers.; Additionally, we have over-the-head earphones available, as well as a portable speaker to hook the Playaway up to while in use. Note: The earphone input jack on the Playaway is universal and virtually any earphones or earbuds will work with Playaway.
Are there opportunities to customize Playaway with our content or branding?: Yes, we can load your content onto Playaway as well as brand the cover of the player and packaging with your logo or message. Is there any way to show more information about the chapters or sections of a title on Playaway?: Yes, we have a version of the Playaway with a larger LCD screen that displays the title and details of each chapter and sub-section. How do I change the battery?

How do I use the lanyard?

How do I change the battery?: Locate the battery clip at the wide base of the player. Then, use your thumb, coin or a screwdriver to push the clip which will allow you to unsnap and remove the cover. After that, remove the old battery and replace with a fully charged battery. Lastly, snap the cover back into place.
How long does one AAA battery last?: Every Playaway comes pre-loaded with a standard Energizer AAA battery that will provide an average of 20 hours of playtime.
How do I know how much battery life is left in my unit?: The Playaway LCD has a small battery icon that is displayed on screen. There are four levels of battery life reflected in the icon. When one bar is left in the battery icon, you have 20% power left.
What do I do if my Playaway locks up?: Like any good storyteller, sometimes the Playaway just needs a moment to catch its breath. First, turn it on and off. If that doesn't solve the problem, remove and reinsert the battery.
Why won't my Playaway turn on?: The battery may be dead. Please try replacing the battery with a fresh one. Please also ensure that the battery is inserted in the right direction.
How do I use the lanyard?: There is an indentation at the top of the player. To attach the lanyard, simply thread and loop the lanyard into the indentation.

How big is a Playaway and how much content can it hold?: Playaway is about half the size of a deck of cards and will hold the audio for an entire book, up to 80 hours of playtime.
Why can't I add, delete or transfer content on or from a Playaway?: In order to protect the copyrighted works of authors and publishers as traditional books do, you are unable to make copies of Playaway. But you can share them with friends just like you would lend your new bestseller.
How does Playaway compare to audio on cassette or CD?: Playaway is more convenient and easier to enjoy than juggling multiple CDs, cassettes or a separate player. Playaway allows the listener to control the speed of the narrator's voice and automatically bookmarks the last place they left off after powering down.
How does Playaway compare to digital downloads and other forms of on-the-go downloading like cell phones?: Playaway comes pre-loaded with great digital content, so it does not require information transfer fees, subscriptions, memberships, or even an Internet connection. Just plug-in your headphones and listen wherever you go.
What does the audio sound like on a Playaway?: Playaway audio is of equal or greater quality to digital downloads available today, due to proprietary audio processing, production and leading edge codecs.
Is my Playaway covered under any kind of warranty?: Yes, when delivered to you in new condition in its original container, Findaway World LLC warrants Playaway against defects for one year from the day you buy it. Learn more about Playaway's one-year limited warranty.
Can I use another set of headphones with my Playaway?: Absolutely. In addition to the earphones provided, Playaway was designed with a universal headphone jack to work with almost any type of headphones, speakers or car adapters.
Can I use Playaway in a car?: Yes. Playaway was specifically designed to use most commonly available cassette adapters and FM transmitters. We also provide portable speakers for your Playaway that allow for on the go audio.
